Korina Burne-Vaughn - Board of Trustees Chair
Korina brings vast first-hand knowledge and experience of the healthcare sector to her role as the board chair for Raukura. Korina is the clinical midwifery leader at Birthcare Huntly.
Korina has been involved in midwifery for 24 years and before that was a practice nurse for Raukura Hauora working at Waahi Pa Marae.
She is passionate about improving health equity and positive outcomes for Maori.
Korina lives in Huntly and is married with 4 children. When she isn't balancing work and whanau, Korina enjoys outdoor activities, especially hiking.
Alex Hope - Board member
Alex is a lawyer who specialises in employment law and advises a number of Maori clients and Maori organisations about employment and governance issues.
He is a fluent Te Reo Maaori speaker and advocates for the use of Te Reo Maori in all areas of private and public life. He is also a board member of Te Wharekura o Rakaumangamanga and has been so for the past 30 years.
Alex has an interest in Maori thriving in all aspects of their lives
Mike Paki - Executive Board Member and Chief Executive Officer
Mike represents Te Ohaaki Marae on the Waikato-Tainui tribal council and is the Raukura Hauora O Tainui representative on the Hapai Te Hauora Tapui Board of Trustees.
Ko Tainui te waka, ko Waikato te awa, ko Taupiri te maunga, ko Pootatau Te Wherowhero te Tangata, he piko, he taniwha, he piko, he taniwha, Waikato Taniwha Rau.
Maxine Moana-Tuwhangai - Executive Board Member and Chief Financial Officer
Maxine brings a wealth of governance experience to her role at Raukura. A Chartered Acccountant, Maxine has sat on the boards of various entities including Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (The Correspondence School), Wintec Council, Duke of Edinburgh Hillary Award Trust, Waikato Tainui Iwi Authority, and the Maritime Authority.
Maxine chairs the Central Waikato Catchment Liaison Committee and was a long-standing committee member of the Waikato region's Future Proof Implementation Committee.
Maxine is also a Justice of the Peace and is a Member of the NZ Order of Merit for services to governance and Maaori.
Josephine Peita
Josephine brings extensive experience in leadership and management from a lengthy career in primary school teaching and as an assistant and deputy principal. She taught at Kura Rumaki Reo and Kura Kaupapa Māori from 1995 to 2016, leaving teaching to pursue better engagement between Manawhenua operations and governance and local government relationships in Taamaki Makaurau.
She has considerable governance experience, particularly iwi governance.
In addition to her role as a director for Raukura Hauora o Tainui, Josephine is the chair of Te Ara Rangatu o te Iwi o Ngati Te Ata Waiohua Inc Society, the former chair of Te Ara Rangatahi Charitable Trust, and a trust member of Ngati Te Ata Claims Support Whanau Charitable Trust.
