Whare Oranga Ake Reintegration Service
‘Helping you towards your steps to lifelong freedom.’
We provide a unique re-integration services that supports tauira to work towards a successful and sustainable reintegration back to whaanau, hapuu and iwi.
We work with tauira following our Niho Taniwha philosophy and Taiaha model of service delivery, which is an entry to discharge process.
Each tauira is allocated a Kaiarahi (Navigator) to guide them through the service via one on one sessions to help identify goals and prepare reintegration plans. As part of reintegration planning and preparation, Kaiarahi will make contact with prospective accommodation providers and employers as well as whaanau, iwi, hapuu, community services and any other pro-social person or group identified to support tauira towards a successful return to society.
Kaiarahi will also work closely with Case Managers and the Probation Service to prepare tauira for Parole Board hearings and to navigate through parole conditions on release.
