Raukura Hauora O Tainui have two vacancies available for kaimahi who have experience and passion working within the Alcohol and Other Drug sector. Both roles involve the development, facilitation and delivery of AOD programmes. Areas of responsibility for this role include:

  • Develop and action rangatahi community and whanau satisfaction survey, that will be carried out at set intervals throughout the year

  • Provide comprehensive needs assessments

  • Develop, facilitate and deliver A&D programmes

  • Support and provide mentoring for rangatahi who are registered under Te Oho Ake Rangatahi Community Service

  • Support and provide advocacy for rangatahi

  • Provide a high quality standard of documentation

  • Provide the Manager/Team Leader with monthly progress and output reports

  • Attend all training and staff meetings, as required

  • Provide Health promotions to community on A&D services

  • Participate and contribute to quality, health and safety, policies, protocols and procedures

  • Ensure operational awareness of all legislation pertaining to the field of Alcohol & Drugs and those covered within the organisational framework

 To apply, you will require:

  • At least 2- 3 years previous experience in mental health, alcohol and drug support work or a similar role

  • Full Drivers Licence  and can drive a manual car

  • Certificate in Mental Health/Maori Health Level 4 preferred

  • Personal and professional integrity

  • Able to work independently and in a team environment

  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills

  • High level of computer literacy with Microsoft Office

  • Have accurate and descriptive database entry

  • Efficient and good time management skills

  • Culturally competent in Te Ao Maori (Maori worldview)
