Chairman of Raukura Hauora O Tainui Trust and currently Chair of Te Wharekura O Rakaumangamanga and Waahi Whanui Trust (collective group representing eight marae in the Huntly region). Mr Maipi is also Deputy Chair of Tainui MAPO, Executive of the Iwi Council under the (Waikato District Health Board), Member of Pou (Counties Manukau District Health Board) and a member of the Waikato Tainui Tribal Parliament Te Kauhanganui.
Taitimu Maipi has a long held passion for improving Maori access to services. His leadership of the Kura Kaupapa O Rakaumangamanga has installed the Kura at the forefront of NZ schools. Raukura Hauora is an expression of a vision for Maori Health generally and Tainui health specifically. He has attended the residential governance training run by the Institute of Directors. Taitimu is a resident of Huntly.

Huirama has studied Coaching Essentials and Self Leadership at the College of Neuro-Semantics. His community involvements include:
- Te Wharekura o Rakaumanga Board Member
- Raukura Waikato Social Services Board Member
- Koroneihana Rangatahi Komiti,Waahi Paa Trustee and the Chairman of Waahi Paa Rangatahi Komiti
Huirama is currently leading out the Rangatahi development portfolio for Waikato Tainui and believes that rangatahi involvement at all levels of development is key to proper succession in all areas.
